Business Development Manager - Industrial Computing

An opening has arisen for a specialist Business Development Manager to develop targeted opportunities and win business for expanding Industrial Computing business unit. The successful candidate will have a strong background in a field based business development, sales and account management role with proven experience in delivering a multi million sales target. My client is looking for an individual with experience in solution orientated selling of industrial computers from a computing, electronics or technology related background.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in selling 19" rack related products either from component sets or from more integrated systems. They will need to have a baseline understanding of 19" Rack architectures, including ideally awareness of mechanical structures, cable management, power distribution, environmental management and general IT & Comms payloads. Whilst the role is commercial and does not call for detailed technical depth, this is a desirable component. They are an ambitious company with an aggressive growth plan to meet the milestone for an IPO. This is an important role in order to support the companies’ development during this time and initiate a number of key accounts in order to drive sales and profit.

The successful candidate will need to be a robust individual who is eager and keen to take on new challenges and enjoys a target driven environment. They need to be an effective negotiator with polished customer facing sales skills. This role is field based and so requires someone with a full and clean driving licence, and someone who enjoys traveling and meeting people in their work.

Confidence is key to this role, with a strong ability in presenting to key stakeholders both internally and externally, over a range of different job roles. The candidate will need to be able to communicate and deliver a persuasive customer context value proposition specific to the needs of individual customers.

As this role may be based remotely from our Head Office, the appropriate candidate will need to be a self starter who is able to manage their own time and prioritise effectively. They need to be able to embrace challenges, and strive to consistently improve their performance to hit their targets in an independent environment, as well as have a strong ability in relaying effective communications back to the office and evidencing their workload and commitment.

This position calls for a candidate that has experience in devising prospect and account development sales strategies, with innovative and enthusiastic contributions. They need to be experienced in targeting key accounts with the ability to grow, with a strategic plan in order to execute the activities which need to be done to increase customer sales. This role requires the candidate to take on a mix of both business development in order to develop their pipeline and follow-on account management once customers are secured.

There will be support from all areas of the company in order to help you provide customers with the most effective and relevant information to support technical requirements.

£35-45k per annum (subject to relevant experience)

Commission: Uncapped, Performance Related Based on Commission Structure
