Finance Manager, Guildford

£40,000 plus company pension, private healthcare, parking and support with final CIMA studies/exams.

Job Description

A very hands-on Finance Manager role with an international group reporting directly to the Finance Director.

Working alongside a part-time accounts’ assistant, you will be responsible for the entire month end reporting process, as well as quarterly VAT returns, payroll across three countries and the preparation/submission of statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries.

The role is based just south of Guildford, but with offices in Cambridge, Delaware, Shanghai and Muscat, some travel will be necessary.

Duties include:

  • Day to day management of finance function
  • Manage the purchasing function including processing of invoices and payment runs
  • Raise purchase orders
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Post nominal ledger journals.
  • Review nominal ledger accounts for accuracy and reconcile as required.
  • Monitor, review and maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Management of intra-group balances.
  • Perform month end processes and reconciliations
  • Design and maintain spreadsheets for use throughout the accounting function
  • Manage company credit card and cash advances process.
  • Manage credit control process.
  • Monitor compliance with the Procurement Policy.
  • Maintain sales ledger and manage credit control function.
  • Manage bank cash balances.
  • Update accruals and prepayments schedules.

The ideal candidate for the role will;

  • be part (or newly) CIMA qualified
  • be used to a small company environment, ie. willing to 'muck-in’ and help with whatever needs doing
  • have extensive experience of Sage 200 and Business Intelligence
  • be extremely confident in Excel and competent in other MS Office products
