An expanding City based Global Insurance Group seeks an experienced Data Manager with Financial/Professional Services background to run a Data Management team, that manages and maps data from clients for business development, risk assessment projects and on going company requirements.

The role is to provide operational support to the Business in the development of new client/product/market opportunities. The Director, Data Management will develop EDI capabilities and propositions in support of these opportunities. The role supports the Head of Operations in the delivery of an efficient and effective customer focussed service. It also supports the development of business systems, including technical upgrades, data cleanses, etc - adopting best practice as appropriate.

Duties include - Develop EDI capabilities in support of business opportunities, Ensure optimum support to Sales & Marketing in the implementation of new business, also working closely with the Client Accounts team, as required. Support Sales & Marketing in performing due diligence client visits. Seek continuous improvement of processes to ensure optimum performance of the Data Management operation. Play an influential role in the prioritisation, scoping and delivery of system enhancements, upgrades, enhancements, etc . Seek to develop current business systems including technical upgrades and data cleansing; adopting best practice where practicable.

Manage the performance of four direct reports, setting goals and objectives. Monitor/review performance against these goals and objectives. Conduct performance reviews. Provide requisite training and coaching as required. Support the Head of Operations in the preparation of departmental objectives, business plans, expense budgets, etc and report on progress. Ensure that remedial action is taken, as required.
