Digital Natives is a creative content agency based in east London. We’re looking for an digitally savvy editor and creative problem solver to join our team as editorial director. This person will lead the charge on brand and tone of voice work for digital and social content - both for our clients and the agency. You’ll have experience of working collaboratively with colleagues and clients to create top-quality content that resonates with the intended audience and achieves business objectives. With an excellent media and communications background and a minimum of four years’ related experience in digital copywriting for FMCG, fashion and beauty brands, you’ll be bright, enthusiastic and confident. You’ll be an excellent internal and external communicator with an eagle eye and almost geeky organisational skills.


- Brainstorming and creating innovative content on behalf of a number of brands, including writing, editing and sub-editing copy for use across all digital channels (including VOD)

- Building targeted social media plans that ensure appropriate messaging is executed online across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.

- Creating and executing monthly editorial and social calendars for clients across all channels

- Ensuring effective monitoring and measurement of company’s social media and reporting on insights gained from agencies and media monitoring

- Working closely with the art director to create guidelines and tone of voice documents for clients

- Analysing website and social data to make recommendations on current and future projects

- Keeping up with the latest digital and social trends and using them to inform ongoing strategies

- Engaging with and building up clients’ communities on social media. Please note there will be an element of community management during the initial months of employment

- Working with the strategy director to create straplines and strategic editorial guides for clients

- Providing support to colleagues when promoting the agency on the company blog, social, AdWords campaigns and MailChimp email marketing

- Managing freelancers and influencers on behalf of clients to ensure work is delivered on time and within budget

- Driving the agency’s digital growth strategy, including all internal PR. Writing press releases and dealing with enquiries from the public, the press and related organisations

- Lead on internal social strategy, facilitating workshops within the organisation

- Speaking publicly at presentations and supporting senior management with client pitches

- Engaging with partners on thought leadership articles, identifying opportunities for them to comment on sector issues in the press and assisting them in writing articles across a range of practice areas

- Editing content produced by colleagues, including conceptualising the projects upfront and proofing prior to publishing

- Building and maintaining close working relationships with colleagues and clients

- Attending industry events with the view to targeting and building relationships with appropriate contacts within the media where stories will be released

- Serving as an exemplary writer, consistent with the company’s tone and mission, equipped to handle all outgoing communications


- Ability to write snappy, witty, on-brand copy. Excellent attention to detail with faultless spelling and grammar. Must have a minimum of four years’ agency experience in copywriting and branding. A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications is preferred, but not essential

- Experience managing an editorial calendar for media publications and/or marketing teams within a global FMCG, fashion or beauty brand

- Extensive knowledge of and experience with key platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest

- Technical knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, metrics and tracking, community engagement tools and CMSs

- Extensive research experience, including trend forecasting

- Brilliant project management and organisational skills

- Confident in presenting and selling in ideas to clients

- Quick to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent networker and relationship builder

- Calm under pressure

- Strong client management skills


£34,000 - £38,000, depending on experience
