Thanks to an increased workload and rapid expansion the client, a city centre based Insolvency practice, is seeking an Insolvency Cashier to join their team.

This growing team is quickly building a reputation within the industry with partners comprised of ex top ten accountancy firms. The firm prides itself on having a family feel internally, whilst maintaining an ambitious approach outwardly.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Insolvency Cashier
  • Ability and desire to work effectively and concisely to strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The Role:

  • To perform work in accordance with business procedures and statutory requirements
  • To ensure all areas of the work are completed with any exceptions to this being agreed with the line manager.
  • Taking responsibility for a large portfolio of all types of insolvency assignments, including trading and administrations.
  • Bank reconciliations - in Sterling and foreign currency
  • Opening and closing bank accounts on behalf of liquidators, trustees, shareholders etc
  • Monitoring bank balances and payment of funds
  • Raising cheques for payment (as requested by administrator) for payments such as staff costs, advertising, dividends, estate agents etc
  • Banking cheques and cash as requested by administrator or as submitted for payment by external parties
  • Checking that expected funds have been received, with details logged on to IPS
  • Recording cheques received and produce receipt voucher.
  • Completing journal entries, adding bank interest and charges
  • Ensuring that accounts do not go overdrawn
  • When requested by administrator, Invest funds on fixed term deposit
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Producing statutory receipts and payments accounts (in various formats) in accordance with the Insolvency rules, regulations and deadlines, which will be sent to Companies House, Courts and the Accountant in Bankruptcy depending on type of Insolvency case.
