Our client, a Times Top 200, has been growing rapidly over the past few years both through organic growth and acquisition. Their Marketing Department is looking to recruit an individual who is to focus solely on Business Development for the Digital arm of the business targeting predominantly new clients with some business development work required on existing accounts.

Based: City of London

Job Title: New Business Development Executive

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (plus OTE) per annum + uncapped commission OTE £40k - £50k + year 1

Responsibilities:

New Business Development;

  • Researching organisations and individuals from off and on line sources , with particular emphasis on social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Lead generation for Digital business
  • Pitching products and/or services to C-suite/Senior Management prospects
  • Researching the needs of other companies and accurately identifying who makes decisions about purchasing
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and setting up meetings
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Tracking all lead activity in a structured format including timeline for response/follow-up

Developing business relationships with existing customers;

  • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company's products/services portfolio

Skillset

To be an effective business development executive, an individual must be:

  • Strong communicator both over the phone and in person
  • Knowledgeable of the industry - although extensive training will be given
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Skill in prioritising workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisation

Education

  • Preferably qualified to degree level, although not essential
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience, selling to C level
  • Great researching skills
  • Digital Sales/Marketing skills would be advantageous
