Responsibilities:

  • Preparing several sets of management accounts to deadlines with some guidance from the Business Analyst (BA), Senior Management Accountant (SMA) or Finance Manager (FM).
  • Review management accounts with the Business Group Manager (BGM) and make all appropriate changes.
  • Prepare commissions and bonuses with some guidance from the SMA or BA.
  • Write thorough account commentaries.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports with some guidance from the SMA or BA.
  • Liaise with FM and BGMs.
  • Take on additional work when available and necessary.
  • Ability to prepare intercompany, bank and control account reconciliations with guidance from the SMA or BA.
  • Respond to queries in a timely manner and keep superiors informed.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Studying for CIMA, AAT, ACCA to become a part-qualified accountant.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written and confident when liaising with senior finance and business managers.
  • Able to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Good Excel skills. A knowledge of business software - Vision, SUN and SAP Business Objects would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of double-entry book keeping, statutory income statement and balance sheets.
  • Keen to learn from FMs, BAs, SMAs and other MAs.
  • Act in a professional manner and set a good example for the finance department;
  • Follow and support internal controls within finance.
