Duties and Responsibilities:
The Company require a pro-active IT Technician with an aptitude for communication and interest in Microsoft infrastructure technologies such as Windows.
This role will initially be involved in the support of their internal systems and those of their customers.
Quickly assimilating new technologies, being able to apply what is learnt and showing a genuine enthusiasm for the technology are critical to this position’s success.
You will be working in the Technical HelpDesk department and will be the first point of contact for customer/end-users to report Windows Based PC faults via eTicket, Telephone or email. Most faults will be with Windows Desktop or Microsoft Desktop Applications but may relate to our Microsoft Cloud based services for Exchange, File and Print Services and Remote Desktop Services. You will be responsible for diagnosing whether to deal with the fault yourself or escalate to 2nd line support.
During non-reactive periods you will be responsible for the provisioning of new users in the Active Directory, Exchange and creating Remote Desktop Profiles as and when required.
The remainder of your time will be spent maintaining the Windows 2012/2008 based platform and Exchange 2013/2010/2007 servers; clearing error logs, applying patches and ensuring 100% operation of our backup routines.
As a Microsoft IT apprentice you will be required to:
·Learn how to Support internal systems, including Active Directory and Exchange.
·Become a valued part of the IT Support team.
·Learn how to provide technical support to marketing channels and activities.
·Learning how to handle the telephone support calls – as well as incoming Helpdesk emails.They will manage the Helpdesk system, ensuring all calls are handled within the agreed SLA.
·You will be working on resolving the first line support where capable, and work with more experienced staff to help resolve more complex issues.
·Other responsibilities will include updating company systems.

·Eagerness to Learn
·You should have GCSE Math’s & English at C or above and 3 or 4 other subjects at least. You will have enjoyed school, and you’ll be ready for a new learning environment in the world of work.
·Any interest in one or some of the following is important; trouble shooting, Computer repairs, computer hardware, Microsoft Programs.
·You will need a good eye for detail with a view to improving results on a daily basis.
Training to be provided
You will be enrolled on to the award winning Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship Programme. You will work towards gaining the Microsoft certifications, MTA Server Fundamentals, MTA Network Fundamentals and also a City and Guilds Level 3 ICT Diploma. You will also work towards gaining an MCP in Windows Server 2012. This apprenticeship is delivered remotely via a live virtual classroom using the very latest Microsoft technologies. These qualifications are globally recognized industry certifications and form the significant building block of IT knowledge for anybody looking to start a career in IT.
Future Career Progression
There is an opportunity for candidates to progress to field engineering roles and/or technical pre-sales. The Company are looking to split the helpdesk and internal maintenance into designated teams as the business grow so those with leadership potential will have scope to be considered for team leader roles in the future.
You may be required to attend customer sites with Field Engineers to gain hands-on experience
Weekly Wage: £150 per week £7800 per annum – earn while you learn
Daily Working Hours: Monday – Friday – Shift patterns:
-8.00am – 16.30pm
-09.00am – 17.30pm
-09.30am – 18.00pm
