Southampton City Council are currently looking for Care Assistants to work in a 34 bed Care Home, based in Bitterne, Southampton. The home provides specialist care to elderly residents with moderate to severe Dementia.
Your new role
As a Care Assistant, it would be your responsibility to create a comfortable environment for all residents, and help them out with any day to day tasks. This would include personal care (e.g. washing, changing and feeding) as well as social activities. You will participate in staff and residents meetings and report any concerns about the services users health to your Manager and healthcare professionals. Care Assistant will also be responsible for writing daily notes, reports and completing care plans.
What you'll need to succeed
Suitable candidates will have a naturally caring disposition to be able to develop good relationships with residents as well as be comfortable delivering all aspects of personal care. Care Assistants will have previous experience in a similar setting and ideally hold basic certificates in care. You will be working in a supportive team who offer guidance and on the job coaching.

After the AWR qualifying period you will be able eligible to claim an enhanced rate for working unsociable hours that can enhance your rate by 6% to 50%.
