Business Accountant JD

Advise Head of Contract Services on all aspect of financial management, accountancy systems and business support services required to meet the recommendations / actions from the Contract Services Review Report.

Review allocation of running costs, business management costs, central support costs, operational mana get costs, Quality assurance and service development costs, and ensure they are being properly recovered within the Contract price to clients and customer.

LBTH Agresso Accounting System:-

Work with Children's Services and Corporate Finance to ensure the correct information is being put into the monthly

accounts and find a way to ensure the trading account information and the Agresso trading accounts are comparable/ compatible and a balance and agree with each other.

Produce a high-level income and expenditure accounts for each service (primary catering, secondary catering, special school catering, cleaning services, welfare catering from CPU, and schools and nursery catering from CPU, Toby Lane Conference/ Meeting Venue, Professional Development Centre)

Develop the Cypad management information system to produce accurate and timely information for every Head of Kitchen. Ensure data is comparable with trading accounts and. Agresso Accounting System.

Set up costing spreadsheet for Service Level Agreements for 2017/18 and assist with costing exercise.

Advise on structure of the Contract Services Business Service Unit.

Person Specification for the Post of Business Accountant

Qualifications/ Experience

Qualification or part qualification recognised by the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB).

Experience of supporting organisational change.

Experience of providing technical advice to non-finance manager.

Experience of providing financial control and managing financial processes and systems.

Experience of preparing reports for presentation to Senior Managers.

Experience of prioritising conflicting demands, to take the initiative to work effectively under pressure to achieve positive results.

Experience of dealing effectively with complex queries.

Knowledge

Knowledge of best practice and the regulatory framework in accountancy.

Knowledge of computerised accounting systems is essential.

A proven track record in managing budgets to high standards of probity.
