Reporting to the Engineering Manager your objective is to support operations by fixing product design & manufacturing issues and generating and delivering solutions to drive non-conformance, cost and complexity out of the business. You will effectively bind together Operations, Manufacturing and Design roles to identify inefficiency in the factory, provide solutions and drive the team to a lean method, eliminating concessions and re-work.

You will be responsible for the delivery of multiple simultaneously running projects as well as ensuring all company procedures and standards relating to the Design Office are up to date and incorporated in drawing/documentation preparation. Specifically you will:

- Ensure all completed work complies with company and other standards and requirements, and is checked as required.
- Ensure all modification procedures comply with company and/or customer procedures.
- Prepare working documentation for Designers, Manufacturing Engineers & Operators
- Advise on the most appropriate tools and procedures, and encourage the use of DFM (Design for manufacture) and DFA (Design for assembly).
- Ensure, in conjunction with the designer leader, that designs comply with all appropriate customer and regulatory requirements.
- Occasionally visit customers, UK and Overseas for technical reviews, giving presentations, and making decisions on behalf of the company.

Candidates should have extensive experience in Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering or similar technical role and experience providing direct technical support formanufacturing in safety critical sectors such as aerospace, automotive, defence or power generation.

Candidates should be well versed in a broad range of materials, processes, technologies and tools including but not limited to: exotic materials, manufacturing and assembly, precision metal and machining, metal bonding, metal forming, plating and painting, process FMEA's and tool design/fabrication.

- HND or equivalent in an engineering related discipline (ideally an Engineering Degree)
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office computer skills, Six Sigma tools, project planning and budgeting, in addition to good interpersonal, communication & technical writing skills.
- Experience of using Geometric Tolerancing
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM Experience inPDM and CAD systems.
