Financial Services Manager (Deputy S151 Officer)

Position: Financial Services Manager

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours a week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Wallfields, Hertford

Salary: £43,053 - £53,147 per annum (inclusive of local weighting)

About the role:

This is a new role reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance and Property. You will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record in all aspects of Local Government Finance, procurement and risk management. You will provide support to the Head of Strategic Finance and Property in managing major projects within the Council and assisting with the formulation of the department's overall policy and strategy. You will play a vital role in leading a new Financial Services team which includes the strategic and transactional arms of the Council's finances.

About you:

You will be CCAB qualified and you will have worked in a senior role, ideally in a public sector environment, with experience in the improvement of sound governance, financial controls and financial planning. You will have worked closely with Senior Officers and Elected Members in providing strategic financial advice and guidance.

You may have experience of the following: Financial Services Manager, Local Authority, Finance Manager, CCAB qualified, Financial Services, Senior Finance Manager, Accountant, Local Council, Qualified Accountant, Procurement, etc.
