AUTOCAD Technician and Deputy Factory Manager

* £28,000-£32,000 DOE
* Monday to Friday 7.30 to 5pm with 2 x 15 minute 'tea breaks' (am & pm) and 30-minute lunch break
* Overtime often required/available

Based in NW London but factory will be moving to Dunstable area in October
Candidates must be able to get easily to both locations!

AutoCAD and DXF file creation responsibilities: Creating, from various forms of communication, Technical 2D AutoCAD drawings and DXF files for bespoke stone pieces, to confirm details with the client, both internal and external, and to set machines for accurate cutting.
Assistant Factory Manager: To direct the shop floor machine operators on flow, priorities, QC to ensure stone is ready for dispatch on agreed date. To cover Factory Manager when on holiday
Customer and factory liaison: - Full training will be given. Responsibility for progressing stone fabrication of certain types of work. Once a quote has been accepted and the project confirmed you will be responsible for scheduling the templater, dealing with feedback from the template, if appropriate amending the quote to reflect the true details, getting confirmation of the revised quote, creation of cutting sheets and getting them signed off by client, internally request for the stone to be ordered, scheduling and managing the work flow to ensure delivery to time-line, putting works into production, scheduling the installation and briefing the fitters, carrying out Quality Control checks throughout.

Key Skills

* Autocad 2D
* IT and software proficient
* Ability to read and understand technical/architectural drawings
* Some CNC programming experience would help but would suit someone who is capable of rapidly learning engineering type skills
* Fluent in English - reading, writing and speaking


* Fundamentally the right person will be proactive, hands-on, creative, practical, technically minded (e.g. you can see where it would be optimum to place a join in a worktop etc.), with drive, a strong communicator, works well with others and is able to motivate and lead a team. You will likely have previously worked in a fast-paced challenging environment in a supervisory or managerial role ideally in a factory, workshop or construction site. You will also be the kind of person that has a practical aptitude for building things that include woodwork, metalwork, stone work etc.
