Production Team Leader / Supervisor

Are you an Production Supervisor, Shift Leader or Production Team Leader who has worked in the Aerospace, Automotive or other precision (highly regulated industry) engineering manufacturing facility? If so, my client, a world leader in aerospace equipment and systems on board commercial, regional and business aircraft as well as helicopters.

My client design, certifies and assembles innovative, personalized and high added value products for 1st, business and premium economy aircraft cabins, this specific division focuses on high end products and is a composites centre of excellence for the group company.

THE SALARY/RATE/PACKAGE/BENEFITS

Production Team Leader / Supervisor

- £35k-£40k per annum (inc shift premium)

- Double day shift - rotating earlies and lates - 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm

- Surrey - Camberley, Blackwater, Bracknell, Farnborough
- Onsite facilities including onsite cafe
- Company benefits include pension scheme and 25 days holiday (+bank holidays)

THE CANDIDATE

Production Team Leader / Supervisor

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Requirements

- Must have experience and be proven as a Team leader or Supervisor within an engineering environment, ideally Aerospace or Automotive industries.
- A good understating of composite or mechanical assembly, fitting, or production
- Experience working and leading teams of operators and skilled technicians
- Must have worked in a fast paced manufacturing environment

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Requirements

- Understanding of Aerospace standards, AS9100, EASA standards, REV C
- Have working experience in a machine shop environment
- Composite material experience
- Someone who has implemented or managed a weekend shift in a previous interim or permanent role

THE ROLE

Production Team Leader / Supervisor

Job requirements/tasks and responsibilities

- Responsibility for shift output to plan, quality and efficiency
- Build a multi-skilled workforce across the range of activities
- Produce work to drawing specification and procedural guidelines
- Ensure immediate feedback is provided to direct manager where customer satisfaction may be threatened
- To facilitate a culture of continuous improvement and to support (and manage where necessary) Business Improvement projects
- Implement and maintain 5S programme in area of responsibility
- Run daily production meetings with team to facilitate business communication and prioritise objectives
- Ensure Daily Management Boards are up to date and are used to communicate and engage team & support functions.
- Initiate and manage cost-down projects
- Resource planning, including holiday rota's and overtime plans
- Using a training matrix to plan training courses and development plans
- Ownership of team KPI's (safety, quality, cost, delivery, people) & tactical/strategical activities
- People management including recognition, disciplinary process and contract variations
