Proptech is a leading aircraft propeller MRO with a global customer base. Situated in Portsmouth UK, the organisation is part of the Segers Group of companies and is their primary location in Europe.

The senior management team are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic candidate to take on this varied and demanding role.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group CFO, the Financial Controller will ensure the integrity of the accounts, issue accurate reports on time and manage the Finance Team. The key areas of responsibility are as follows:


- Overseeing and maintaining the Ledgers and Financial Records of the company
- Cash Flow management and forecast
- Credit Control
- Bank Reconciliations
- Inventory control and valuation
- Payroll and PAYE
- Maintain robust financial controls

Management Information and Analysis

- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and monthly management packs
- Interpret and report on financial information
- Produce KPIs and cost analysis
- Research and report on factors influencing business performance
- Analyse competitors and market trends
- Conduct analysis, reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Preparation of annual Projections and Budgets
- Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation


- Preparation of data and schedules for annual audit
- Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts: auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue

Team Leadership

- Manage the workload and distribution of tasks within the Finance team
- Creating and sustain a positive team environment at all times
- Ensure that the Finance Function makes a positive contribution to company success
- Provide support, training and development to staff
- Manage the recruitment, training and appraisal of new staff

Qualifications & Experience

The Financial Controller must be fully qualified or able to demonstrate appropriate qualification through experience, with the following attributes:

- Held a management financial position for a minimum of 3 years
- Have a proven track record of success within a commercial environment
- Flexible and hands-on, pragmatic and a lateral thinker; able to manage multiple tasks and switch priorities at short notice
- Highly numerate with advanced Excel skills and experience of finance and business systems software
- Experience of Multi-currency Accounts and awareness of International requirements
- Having a solid awareness and experience of VAT and payroll
- Experience of Import/Export and Corportaion Tax would be beneficial
