Business Development Manager – London, South East & Eastern Counties

PURPOSE: TO CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES AND BUSINESS TO ACHIEVE MARGIN OBJECTIVES

REPORTS TO: National Sales Manager

SUBORDINATES: None

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.To develop and implement an area business plan in conjunction with the National Sales Manager in order to achieve objectives and margin targets. Area covered by the London region incorporating London, the South East & East Anglia counties.

2.To acquire new Clients and business in the refurbishment market.

3.To promote when ever possible group products

4.Develop relationships with End users that own their premises.

5.Provide site surveys, technical advice /guidance and prepare proposal specifications for prospective customers/projects in conjunction with relevant Branch staff

6.Liases with Area Sales Manager on the margin potential.

7.Develop and maintain an effective project quote and specification tracking and communication system.

8.Liase and exchange information with Suppliers representatives to enhance business opportunities.

9.Liase and co-operate with the relevant Head Office staff to ensure that customer service requirements are exceeded.

10.Liase with Area Manger at order stage and during Contract as required to ensure the smooth running and profitable outcome of contract

11.Analyse market intelligence and report on competitor activity/information and advise on appropriate actions.

12.Maintain customer-focused philosophy through a commitment to continuous improvement.

13.To implement company Safety policy at all times.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER.

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

·To gain experience of the building & construction industry.

·General Computer awareness
