Interaction Recruitmentarecurrently working with a Contract Catering Client whoarelooking for a talented Chef Manager for a Primary School Site in St Albans on a 39 Week Contract working 40 Hours per week.

The Chef Manager is to consistently prepare and present excellent food and provide a professional food and beverage service to the clients specification, keep the business efficient & on-target financially in a way that reflects & supports myclients values.



• Plan relevant, well structured & fully costed menus

• Produce and present high quality food in conjunction with the kitchen team

• Apply batch cooking techniques to ensure fresh food throughout service periods

• Ensure that methods of food preparation, production & presentation comply with company’s standards and client specification

• Ensure supplies are sourced from the Company’s nominated supplier list


• Create & maintain a healthy, safe & secure environment & ensure compliance with all health & safety & food safety legislation


• Recommend and implement new menu and operational ideas

• Actively market and promote the catering service, including theme days and regular promotions

• Build & maintain effective relationships at all appropriate levels of the client organisation

• Communicate with customers to ascertain satisfaction and carry out a customer survey a minimum of once per year in conjunction with your Area Manager


• Ensure budgeted sales targets are understood & achieved

• Monitor sales volumes, product costs and implement any necessary corrective action

• Ensure wastage is routinely costed out & stays within agreed levels & do not negatively impact on the budget

• Ensure that gross profit targets are understood & reached

• Obtain best value commodities from company nominated suppliers utilising the company ‘best buy’ traffic light sheet

• Ensure the company’s accountancy documentation & administration procedures are completed accurately and by the appointed time

• Report monthly results to Area Manager by Friday of month end


• Ensure sufficient labour resource is available with agreed labour budgets

• Ensure all new staff receive a timely induction to enable them to quickly become an effective member of the team

• Develop a flexible, enthusiastic and motivated team that strive to provide great customer service

• Set & communicate team & individual goals & day to day performance expectations, clearly aligned to business objectives


• Take all necessary steps, including regular spot checks, to ensure the security of the kitchen, stores, office space, monies and other resources either belonging to or under the control of my client.
