About The Role

Working under the guidance of the Head of Student Welfare and Compliance you will required to assist in ensuring that QA Higher Education is fully compliant with all relevant legislation. This predominantly relates to Home Office regulations on Tier 4 sponsorship under the Points-Based System but is by no means limited to this. You will also be liaising with partner organisations regarding the issue of Certificates of Acceptance (CAS) and to help to maintain monitoring measures to ensure compliance with legislation in this area.

In addition to this you will support student retention, engagement, achievement and satisfaction, by providing one to one advice and support, enabling students to manage challenges and fully participate in student life.

You will also work with Student Services and Registry to ensure compliance with Home Office legislation along with deputising for the Head of Student Welfare and Compliance during absence/annual leave.

About The Person

  • To be responsible for ensuring QAHE is compliant with all relevant legislation under the Points Based System for immigration
  • To periodically monitor attendance records and check that internal processes are working as documented
  • To ensure that up-to-date information (both printed and web-based) regarding UK, immigration regulations is developed and managed for use by current and prospective students and internal advisor team.
  • To keep up to date, and to update the rest of QAHE, with all relevant immigration legislation via Home Office and UKCISA and their codes of practice.
  • To regularly review best practice elsewhere in the sector and to ensure that guidance is disseminated internally within QAHE as appropriate.
  • To take on the responsibility for the Head of Student Welfare and Compliance periodically where the Head of Student Welfare and Compliance is absent or on leave
  • Providing general wellbeing advice and guidance to students
  • Working closely with Faculty and Student Services to support retention and achievement
  • Advising students on university policy and procedure; assisting students in completing associated paperwork
  • Adhere to all Company policies, including, but not limited to Health and Safety policy, IT User policy and anti-bribery policy.
  • Any additional tasks that you are assigned by your line manager of a senior member of staff.
  • Your Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of and demonstrable experience of Tier 4 (General) sponsorship and the requirements of Tier 4 sponsor status
  • Experience of implementation and development of compliance processes and procedures
  • Any industry-related qualifications would be beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of immigration best practice
  • Ability to develop, implement and manage processes and procedures
  • Experience of working in an FE/HE educational setting, or advisory role
  • Passionate about supporting students attain a better quality of life through education
