An opportunity has arisen to work for a highly established market leader in FMCG. They are looking for a Category Merchandiser to support their category management team and take the lead with one of their major clients – one of the top 4 national supermarkets.
This is an interesting role as you will be the bridge between the Buying, Marketing, Operations teams and this key account client.
So it is a real key role that demands brilliant relationships both internally and externally. You will understand and deliver brilliant service levels to all.
And you will work with the Senior Category Manager to develop other team members.
There are ambitious but realistic growth plans over the next three years which will give you the opportunity to develop your career.
So what is the day to day work?
Product File Management – listing new products with clients and making sure the stock file is bang on accurate.
Forecasting – getting it right so the buying team get the buying right!
Operational Planning – detailed plans by SKUs for inbound and outbound stock
Management Reporting – for the company and for major clients
Range Planning – analysis of customer sales data for plan future ranges.
Client Relationships – email, phone and face to face meetings
So what will your background and experience cover?
3 years in retail HQ – perhaps HO Merchandising or Supply Chain Management or Operational Planning
A good degree
Excel – formulas, conditional formulas V Lookups, Pivot Tables
You will be:
