Head of Business Development
Location: Bristol - Commutable from Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath, Somerset and Cardiff.
Salary: £48,000 - £52,000 per annum

Role Purpose
Develop and implement business, capture and marketing plans to achieve the sales and profit goals


Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the short, medium and long-term growth strategy
* Lead review approvals, proposal preparation / submission for new contract development
* Ensure alignment of the functional and operational strategies to deliver tactical and strategic growth
* Understand current and future market trends and OEM/Tier One purchasing strategies in the AM space
* Develop and grow relationships with key customer and industry stakeholders in support of target sales campaigns
* Identify and secure new business opportunities in line with the wider product strategy
* As part of the leadership team contribute to and support the wider strategic direction and decision making process
* Lead on the key customer interface for all aspects of business development
* Compliance with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety procedures relevant to all work activities
* Reporting of all incidents, accidents and near misses as per the company's procedure and implementation of identified corrective actions
* Maintain good standards of housekeeping in designated work area(s)
* Champion 'Export Control' compliance activities, ensuring you and where applicable, members of your team, adhere to the site 'Technical Control Plan (TCP)', guaranteeing compliance with Export Control Regulations, controls, training and systems.
* Extensive international travel

Qualifications/Experience/Skills
Essential:
* Educated to degree level in Business and / or Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience
* Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
* Results oriented with demonstrated ability to negotiate and sell successfully
* Ability to develop and hold high level relationships and negotiations with customers
* Experience and understanding complex customer decision making strategies and an ability to open new markets
* A demonstrated broad technical understanding of materials and manufacturing, machining, advanced processes, manufacturing operations and applications
* Export Control understanding and regulatory requirements
