A dynamic and prestigious management consultancy looking to hire a Commercial Accountant. The job has arisen due to my client's remarkable growth over the last 18 months (including winning several new contracts). The role is based in their West London office. My client has a preference for candidates who are pursuing an accountancy qualification, i.e. CIMA or ACCA.

You'll be managing the accounts for the transport and oil and gas subsidiaries, so candidates with 3-5 years relevant finance experience finance experience for a transport or oil and gas business are extremely desirable. The role is based in my client's West London office.

The role will be reporting in to the CFO and the duties include budgeting and forecasting, KPI analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss analysis and variance analysis. You'll also be producing statutory accounts and reviewing the financial control process. You must be able to investigate anomalies with general ledger codes and be able to explain the reasons for the difference.

You should be a very engaging, assertive and confident in person. The role includes some client facing duties, so you need to be somebody who can converse with people at all levels of the business. Candidates need to be strong enough to challenge senior managers and stakeholders. The CFO sits on the Board and you will be able to translate your ideas to very senior and influential members of staff.

It's a very dynamic working environment and candidates must demonstrate previous experience of scrutinising and reviewing processes.

There is a significant amount of Excel use in the role, so candidates should be confident building pivot tables and v-look ups from scratch. Exposure to macros would be an excellent bonus.
