Field service engineer (Nitrogen Gas generation)

The Field Service Engineer will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on nitrogen generation machinery across the UK.

My client supplies high pressure nitrogen generation equipment to the Pharmaceutical industry and provides equipment which enables its clients to produce their own nitrogen gas.


You will be responsible for the installation, service and repair of medical diagnostic instrumentation in laboratories across the UK. This will include the delivery of planned maintenance and routine servicing as well as troubleshooting and repair of faulty instruments.

You should be an experienced engineer, ideally with experience of the servicing of electrical or gas generation equipment. People with experience in air conditioning or refrigeration will also be considered.

Experience of working in Academic, pharmaceutical or NHS laboratories would be highly beneficial for this position.

Role:

  • Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance on customer equipment
  • Ensuring servicing and breakdown jobs are prioritized and followed through to completion
  • Effectively diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on customer equipment and identifying required parts to carry out repairs
  • Commissioning of new equipment
  • Completing and returning job reports in a timely manner

The Candidate:

  • A strong mechanical engineering background
  • The ability to understand and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Experience of maintaining site equipment in an external field service role
  • The flexibility to adapt to changing situations
  • Experience of working with compressors, pneumatic actuators and vacuum pumps
  • A passion for building long term customer relationships

A company vehicle will be provided to the successful applicant, so a full UK Driving licence is essential. Some (limited) overseas travel may be required for the role.
