Client Overview
My client is a family business based in The Midlands. Established in 1985 there are approximately 65 employees. The Company designs and manufactures a wide range of products for various signage and illumination applications, including roads, streets, car parks, underpasses, footbridges, offices, warehouses, school and pedestrian crossings.

Job Summary (Overall purpose)
To satisfactorily manage existing allocated accounts
To seek out and develop new customers, projects and accounts
To maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
To support integration between the Internal Sales team, Development, Purchasing, and Production functions of the business

Job Content

Develop sales in the traffic sign market by;
*Developing and sustaining sales opportunities with key
influencers and decision makers within the territory
*Generating ideas, regardless of source, to further the
organisation's development in this and other markets

Promote the company by;
*Supporting the product in the 'field'
*Attending relevant industry related meetings and functions
*Maintaining close personal contact with key customers
*Assisting with, attending and promoting relevant exhibitions

Contribute towards the organisation's further development by;
*Promotion of the Sales function internally
*Preparation of, and the delivery of, reports
*Existing product review and continual improvement
*Assisting with research, development and continual
improvement of systems and new products
*Maintaining and improving the organisation's status as a
preferred supplier
*Understanding and assisting with the incorporation of new
standards and systems into the business

Prepare the Sales function for continuing expansion by;
*Continuous professional development (of self)
*Managing projects
*Contribution towards a continuous change and learning culture

Performance Standards;
*To manage all of the above within reasonable pre-arranged
costs and time scales. To arrange and meet these targets with
the National Sales Manager.

Knowledge and skills required

*Knowledge of the Local Authority and National Road Signs Industry

* Analysing and interpreting data and arranging and presenting complex

carry out formal and on site demonstration and assembly

Job demands

* The post holder is accountable for the results of self and is accountable
for allocated resources within the department and is expected to

* The role involves making independent decisions requiring the exercise

* The role is semi-supervised and the post holder has autonomy within
pre-arranged costs and other practical considerations
* Guidance in solving problems should be mainly gained from the post-
holder's immediate team but is expected to draw experience from own
internal and external network
* Tasks are expected to be rescheduled as and when required
* Projects are expected to be rescheduled to enable new developments
to be prioritised while minimising disruption to existing project dates
* The post-holder is expected to work any reasonable time of day
required in order to fulfil the duties specified
