Application Support Officer
2nd Line Support Engineer - Winchester - Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced 2 / 3 Line Support Engineer for our client based in Winchester on a permanent basis. The main purpose of this position it to support the IT Shared Services Application Support Team, to provide technical support for all users of Information and Communications Technology department.
Our client is interested to speak with candidates who have strong Windows Support experience as well as one of the following; either strong SQL Server experience (commands, queries, and upgrades), or Application Support experience with any of the following: SharePoint, Northgate, IDOX, Orchard, Forms or CRM Administration. We are ideally seeking candidates have previously worked within the Public, or Not for Profit Sector.
The Support Engineer will work with Business Analysts, Service Areas to design, develop, and test business processes in order to achieve efficiency savings. In addition to this you will provide technical support to the Database Administrator (DBA) in the management and administration of the organisations databases (SQL & Oracle), plan, manage and execute installations, upgrades and maintenance for software applications, whilst acting as a point of contact in response to escalated Service Desk queries.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience within a similar role, our client is happy to provide training on specific application support, however it is essential you have a strong Infrastructure background with the required SQL knowledge.
