A large financial institute in West Yorkshire is seeking a Senior Java Developer on a contract basis for 3 months.

Due to upcoming project demands they need more resource to bolster their current Java team. You will be working on a full-cycle project, liaising with users and associated teams developing web based applications.

Programming languages: Java, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL.


- Extensive experience in a formal development environment.

- Experience and expertise in at least three of the following; Java, Struts2, Spring, Hibernate, JQuery,AJAXand Oracle database.

- Web-service technologies

- Strong SQL knowledge, ideally ANSI

- Strong JavaScript knowledge

- Experience of three tier web-based applications; Oracle database tier, JEE application server tier and web tier with particular emphasis on the web tier. Specific experience of application servers such as OAS and Weblogic would be advantageous.

- Be able to demonstrate, communicate and implement recognised frameworks, design patterns, tools and standards in relation to Java and JEE.

- Experience in Impact assessments for Change Requests and the production of estimates for development and delivery.

- In-depth experience of the full software development life cycle; analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.

- Extensive knowledge of Configuration Management, Change Control and Build tools (J2EE, Maven,Hudsonand JUNIT and Subversion).

Highly Advantageous:

- Business applications especially in the Financial Business sector.

- J2EE, Maven,Hudsonand JUNIT Subversion


- Oracle PL/SQL, Forms and Reports development

- Magento eCommerce platform API experience
