Our prestigious client has an exciting opportunity to work within their Learning Services division. As Head of Talent Development, your role will report directly into the Operations Director. You will lead a national team (currently 4 team members) to source and recruit learners through effective marketing and a broad range of learner engagement activities for our pre-employment and apprenticeship programmes. This role is home-based but you must be able to reach the main Hubs in either London or Newcastle easily and national travel will be required as part of the role.

The Learner Services Division helps public and private sector organisations to find and develop talent through a range of pre-employment and apprenticeship programmes. This Division has seen a growth in recent years and they are planning for continued, sustainable and substantial growth over the next three years.

Activity and targets will be in line with the business plan and individual contractual commitments. This role will work in a coordinate manner across a range of national accounts and programmes.

The role will incorporate the following responsibilities:-

  • Plan and coordinate learner find activity against each contract

  • Work with colleagues in Sales and Operations to ensure that activity is planned and resources are in place in line with the sales pipeline and that colleagues are aware of lead times, progress and learner find issues and opportunities

  • Report on learner find progress and forecast for current contracts

  • Ensure that action is taken to rectify gaps in forecast at the earliest opportunity

  • Line Management of a geographically dispersed team of marketers, learner find administrators, regional learner find consultants and recruitment managers

  • Build, maintain and leverage relationships with a broad range of referral partners and organisations to maximise learner generation

  • Establish, track and report KPI's for learner find which enable CTP to predict the effort and timescales required depending on cohort demographics, geography and programme type

  • Ensure that best practice is shared and promoted between team members and functions

  • Maximise funding generation opportunities

  • Pro-actively seek ways to identify and implement measurable improvements in learner find reach and activity

    The ideal candidate will have the following:-

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent or with demonstrable experience in a similar role at a similar level

  • Experience leading a geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary team

  • Excellent planning, change and time management capabilities

  • A solid understanding of digital marketing and recruitment theory and practices

  • Experience of successfully working within a matrix managed environment

  • Demonstrable track record of leading and motivating a high performing team

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Good working knowledge of Apprenticeships, Traineeships and other vocational qualification

  • Learner focused with a proven track record in supporting their achievement, retention and motivation

  • Experience of working with a virtual learning environment

  • Commitment to own continuous professional development

  • Enhanced level DBS Certificate
