Porter/Handyman - Small Commercial building

Salary: £23,000-£25,000

Location: Central London

Hours: Monday - Friday 7.30am-4.30pm

Description:

Our client currently have a vacancy for an experienced porter/handyman to look after a multi tenanted office building in Central London.

The client is looking for someone who is multi skilled and who is highly capable working within an office environment. Experience in trades such as painting and decorating, carpentry etc. is essential as the role is varied.

You will have a positive can do attitude and provide excellent and professional maintenance services to clients.

You will be onsite every morning at 7.30am to open the building and will report to the Building manager who lives on site.

Your primary role is to diagnose and fix maintenance issues within the communal areas . You will have a range of jobs not limited to:

  • General maintenance
  • minor plumbing issues
  • Painting and decorating
  • Light cleaning to ensure building is in good condition.
  • Opening of the building and daily checks
  • Inspect light fittings in the common areas
  • Carpentry
  • Porter duties such as meet and greet, sign in contractors and take in parcels.

They are looking for someone with a can do attitude and who takes pride in their work.

You will be expected to:

  • Carry out all jobs adhering to the highest safety procedures
  • Have a smiley and approachable manner
  • Be customer serviced oriented

Qualifications and experience:

There are some requirements for this role listed below

  • Some experience in dealing with maintenance issues and painting and decorating, carpentry, replacing silicon, door handles etc.
  • Customer facing skills
  • Excellent communications skills (essential)
  • A similar background in working in residential buildings/hotels/commercial
