**Paralegal- Stunning offices- based in Central London**

£27,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading law firm for pension schemes and pension scheme employers. As a specialist practice working exclusively in the pensions industry, everything the firm does is geared towards advising clients in relation to pensions. Within this role you will take work from a wide range of lawyers within the firm and will be responsible to the relevant work-giver on those tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal research

  • Preparing first drafts of legal documents (e.g. deeds, contracts, balance of powers etc)

  • Preparing letters and emails to clients

  • Dealing with deed formalities

  • Production of consolidated working copies of Trust documents following deeds of amendment

  • Proof reading documents and checking cross references etc (e.g. Trust Deed and Rules).

  • Creation and maintenance of transaction bibles

  • Undertaking company searches using the Companies House website

  • Drafting letters for submission to The Pension Regulator (TPR)

  • Assisting with litigation projects including preparation of Court bundles etc

  • Providing support to Know-how unit

  • Producing the fortnightly Dispute Resolution Bundle

  • Incorporating trustee companies

  • Phone calls to courts / HMRC / other bodies to clarify legal and administrative issues

Skills & Experience:

The candidate must hold a University degree or equivalent and preferably have passed the LPC. At least one year’s experience within a professional services environment is desirable

Specific skills required include:

  • Research and analysis skills

  • On-line search skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong numeracy skills

  • Must be comfortable working with spreadsheets

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Ability to liaise confidently with lawyers of all levels and business support staff

  • Enthusiastic and willing to adapt to a varied role

  • Calm under pressure in order to meet multiple deadlines
