greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a well known brand within the Birmingham area for an Interim Commercial Finance Manager to cover a maternity leave.

Main purpose of the role is to work in partnership with the MD and senior management team of a specific buisness unit, providing robust financial information, highlighting opportunities and contributing fully to key decisions.

key Responsibilities:

  • To advise and support business unit senior management in the development of strategy and financial plans, and in the commercial, operational and financial delivery of strategic objectives.

  • To empower the business to take financial decisions and be accountable for the outcomes.

  • To be valued as an effective business partner contributing fully to key decisions.

  • To provide timely and robust financial information to support decision making.

  • To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes and controls, and risk management.

  • To manage direct reports effectively, motivating and empowering them to make decisions, improving competency of the finance team and supporting individual development and progression.

Experience Required

  • Degree holder with a CCAB qualification or qualified by experience and having more than 5 years post qualification experience in a commercial finance manager role.

  • Track record of influencing broad business change and supporting development of IT systems and management information.

  • Strong communication skills, able to build and maintain effective relationships with senior management.

  • Skilled planner and organiser with an enabling management style to achieve results through others across the business not just in finance.

  • Assured at moving from strategy to operational detail.
