Job Description:
- Support the Head of Engineering to create optimum production efficiency by addressing any breakdown effectively and efficiently
- Organising and maintaining routine servicing schedules on machinery and parts
- Checking and calibrating instruments to ensure they are accurate
- Fitting new parts and responding immediately to equipment breakdowns
- Fixing faults or arranging for replacements to be installed/ Quality inspections
- Transform the engineering function from a reactive to a proactive one
- Working individually to develop and deliver projects to improve operational performance measures
- Promoting a safe working environment and ensure colleagues are aware of Health and Safety responsibilities
- Help the business to comply with BRC requirements, develop new infrastructural projects etc.

Person specification:
- High level of written and spoken English language
- A background involving maintenance of a busy production line using both mechanical and electrical machinery
- Must be multi skilled within engineering disciplines
- Strong data and analytical skills
- Basic Health and Safety and food Hygiene or prepared to complete a course

Essential skills:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role
- Solid understanding of electrics, including 3 phase systems
- Good mechanical skills
- Flexible with excellent communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to independently understand and translate mechanical diagrams/ schematics in order to deliver what is required

Desired skills:
- Commercial gas plumbing licence
- Proven refrigeration and service and maintenance experience on small to medium commercial refrigeration systems including walk-in cool rooms
- NVQ Level 2/ City and Guilds equivalent in refrigeration and Air Conditioning or above
- Safe Handling of refrigerants or F-Gas
- Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to learn quickly and ambition to join a growing company with opportunity for growth and development
- Knowledge/Background in foods, supplements or nutrition.
