This company is a market leader in sub-contract laser profiling. They operate from six sites across the UK and are experiencing year on year profitable growth. They are currently recruiting for an ambitious purchasing professional to take on full responsibility for all aspects of purchasing throughout the business and to help them with their ongoing growth plans.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Purchasing Manager's position forms part of the Senior Management Team with a key input into business strategy and the business planning process. Key components of the role are as follows:

- To manage the purchasing function effectively, ensuring robust systems are in place to buy the right products and services at the right time whilst achieving the best price and the best levels of service from suppliers.
- To direct and motivate staff and managers across the business and make a real difference.
- To interpret purchasing data, write reports and make presentations to managers within the business.
- To think critically, define departmental objectives and help the department to run effectively and efficiently.
- To help them maintain their ISO 9001 accreditation, particularly ensuring that their Test Certification process relating to materials purchased is robust and reliable.
- To manage and negotiate with all their key suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring they operate to the quality standards that they expect.
- To help drive up the quality of their products and contribute towards continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications & Qualities Required:

- CIPS qualification an advantage
- Accomplished negotiator
- Able to work at speed without compromising accuracy & detail
- Good mathematical skills
- Prepared to travel.
