Our client, a global fortune 200 group, creates market-leading coating and paints for a wide variety of industry sectors from logistics to interior design. They are now seeking a Business Development Manager to work across the South-East of England.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be working for our client’s commercial transport business, building business opportunities and providing effective account management to existing clients. 

Splitting your time between new business and account management, you will cover a territory across the South-East of England from Northampton southwards incorporating the M40 Corridor and all areas in between. 

Operating both regionally and nationally, your primary product will be light industrial coatings and your target market will be commercial transport re-finishing businesses. You will particularly focus on those providing finishes for buses and other large commercial vehicles. 

Your duties will include: 

- Winning and growing targeted accounts and building effective industry relationships 
- Developing an understanding of our client’s distribution strategy within the UK marketplace 
- Working as part of a team to define and target new business wins 
- Negotiating contracts and agreements to retain existing customers 
- Creating and managing specifications to ensure they are profitable and deliver value 

Interested? If so, you must have: 

- Previous experience in a field sales or business development role 
- Previous project management experience 
- A full driving licence 

Entrepreneurial, driven and strategically minded, as a Business Development Manager, you’ll need to be tactically aware, able to negotiate at a high level and in possession of excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Experience working with or selling to the commercial transport sector would be beneficial to your application. Experience gained within the commercial transport / light industrial coatings markets and a technical knowledge of paint would be extremely advantageous.
