Job Title: Group Accountant

Location: London , Heathrow

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000

The company is a young and dynamic company with global exposure and a diverse work environment. The business currently owns and manages approximately 100,000 unit load devices (ULDs), and serves more than 90 airlines across a network of 48 global maintenance and repair centers (29 owned) and 450 airports. The business has recently been acquired by EQT Infrastructure and under the private equity ownership is looking forward to growing ambitiously.

Job Role:

Available immediately, and based in London (LHR), the company is seeking a Group Accountant. This role will be responsible for corporate accounting tasks related to group management charges and Treasury.

The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Treasury:
    • monitor cash balance in all Aerospace entities. Review cash flow forecasts and organize funding transfer when needed
    • manage loan interest (payment and recharge)
    • banking relationship
  • Responsible for holding entity
  • Preparation and posting of intercompany charges between Aerospace legal entities, ensuring 100% matching between DR and CR entries
  • Review of intercompany 'netting' payment files, working with P2P team to ensure timely and accurate preparation

Key accountabilities:

  • Funding requests: Review cash flow forecast and organise funding transfer within the group to ensure all entities have sufficient cash to support activities
  • Relation with banks: Review of bank performance
  • Loan Interests: Organise interest payment on a timely manner, maintain loan schedule and recharge loan interests
  • Group Management Charges according to schedules agreed at the start of the year and fixed monthly charges between entities
  • Bi-annual 'true-up' of management charges according to revised allocation keys, ensuring prompt invoicing of these charges
  • Ad-hoc preparation of intercompany charges to the entities based upon ad hoc charges received within the group
  • Monthly reconciliation of Intercompany P&L accounts to ensure balance between entities
  • Monthly reconciliation of Intercompany BS accounts to ensure balance between Unilode entities
  • Monthly investigation and correction of intercompany mismatches between the group entities, including provision of account statements
  • Assistance with audit questions concerning intercompany charges, including provision of supporting information, invoice copies and account statements as appropriate

Skills / qualifications / experience required:

  • Degree in accounting or related field
  • At least three years of progressive accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of all functions in an Accounting/Finance office
  • Knowledge of relevant GAAP and IFRS principles
  • Attention to detail and organisation
  • Ability to multi-task and ensure tasks are completed
  • Flexible and open attitude to work
  • International experience highly advantageous
  • Spoken and written English, other languages an asset
  • A valid employment permit for the United Kingdom
