Do you have buying or category management experience within the Gift or Accessories Industry? Are you keen to be involved in the strategic development & growth of the gifts range and thrives in a fast-paced online environment?

One of the most recognised online retailers in the UK based in South West London, this fast growing specialist retailer is recognised for their innovative approach and unique brand. My client is looking for a Buyer - Gifts & Accessories to join the business. With over 10 million customers in the UK, Australia and USA this a great company to work for!

So what does this role involve?

As Buyer - Gifts & Accessories you will identify the gaps within the offer & set out clear and achievable strategies for each product area highlighting areas of growth, decline, risk and opportunity.

Back up the strategy with trend, market & competitor analysis & a sound understanding of our consumer base & customer needs.

Detailed analysis of previous year's performance & contributing factors to that season's performance. Identify core cash lines, high converting options & missed potential to feed into planning for next season.

Build out the range in line with brand strategy & ambition. Identify core & seasonal mix, price point architecture & option plan. Forecast by line weekly sales plan in line with top line category trading pattern & targets.

Source and secure new supplier relationships as required, ensuring that they are suitable partners & are able to scale with our growth targets.Regularly review supplier base and supplier strategy, to include product hit rate, quality, lead times and margin.

Maintaining and managing critical path for new & existing products. Coordinate the release of new product ranges, to ensure that key stake holders are kept in the loop at all times of the process.

Monitor and review administrative systems, making recommendations for enhancements wherever relevant, with a focus on improving business performance.

Working with Online Product, Back Office System IT Teams & Customer Services to understand and build requirements to launch new product categories. Support Head of Gifts to build an effective and motivational team environment & provide support with the delivery of the Gift Strategy.

What qualities will you need to be successful in this role as Buyer - Gifts & Accessories?

Experience of buying gifts for either High Street or Online retailer

Degree or relevant Higher Education

Great communicator at all levels

Approachable and adaptable to change

Creative yet commercial eye

Good project management skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Understanding of Google Analytics is preferable
