    Duties and Responsibilites

    The Company requires a pro-active IT Technician to work as an integral part of the IT team and carry out primary responsibility for desktops, laptops and 3rd party peripheral software and hardware support.

    The work will be primarily performed in an office environment and requires being able to lift and move PCs and similar equipment on a routine basis. Some work will be performed in a warehouse environment where order assembly and shipping is ongoing.

    Quickly assimilating new technologies, being able to apply what is learnt and showing a genuine enthusiasm for the technology are critical to this position’s success.

    Everyday duties will include:

  • Providing desktop technical support for the company and their customers’ environments
  • Creating & testing images for laptops & desktops
  • Installing new components in the desktops/laptops
  • Developing techniques and applications in the desktops/laptops
  • Assisting in support Server environment as directed
  • Assisting in supporting the company’s Innovation center as directed
  • Testing applications’ and elements’ compatibility
  • Answering calls, managing workload and liaising proficiently with colleagues and customers
  • You will be required to develop an understanding of the following:

  • Active Directory and using group policies
  • SQL / DBA workings
  • VM Ware / Hyper-V
  • MS Lync client and server
  • File & printer services
  • Desirable Skills

  • You should have GCSE Maths & English at C or above and 3 or 4 other subjects at least. You will have enjoyed school, and you’ll be ready for a new learning environment in the world of work.
  • Any interest in one or some of the following is important; trouble shooting, Computer repairs, computer hardware, Microsoft Programs.
  • You will need a good eye for detail with a view to improving results daily.

    Training to be ProvidedYou will be enrolled on to the award winning Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship Programme. You will work towards gaining the Microsoft certifications, MTA Server Fundamentals, MTA Network Fundamentals and a City and Guilds Level 3 ICT Diploma. You will also work towards gaining an MCP in Windows Server 2012. This apprenticeship is delivered remotely via a live virtual classroom using the very latest Microsoft technologies. These qualifications are globally recognized industry certifications and form the significant building block of IT knowledge for anybody looking to start a career in IT.

    Daily Working Hours: Minimum 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm
