Grafton Banks Finance is currently recruiting a Finance Director for a rapidly expanding SME based in Redhill. You will need to be a fully qualified accountant with motor dealership or car leasing sector experience in order to apply. This company has just entered a new phase of growth and requires a technically and commercially astute FD to help them achieve their growth ambitions. You could be a Finance Manager or Financial Controller looking for your next step up or already working at an FD level in order to apply.
The successful applicant will be part of the senior team, reporting to the CEO. As a key member of the senior team, you will be accountable for the financial and operational strategy to support the execution of the company's financial goals, objectives and targets. Responsible for a finance team of 4 people, you will take care of the following:

*Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
*Contribute to the delivery of strategic business plans
*Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
*Manage the preparation of the monthly management accounts for presentation to the Finance Director within 10 working days after the month end; to include all balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and depreciation postings
*Provide analysis of the numbers in the management accounts in order to facilitate appropriate decision-making by the Directors, including update of actual v forecast
*Manage the year-end close process and liaise with the external Accountants to ensure a smooth and early presentation of the statutory accounts to the Directors
*Oversee and improve the company's transaction processing systems
*Own the management of the Sage accounting system, ensuring that it is working correctly and resolving systems issues as and when they arise
*On a weekly basis, maintain a cash flow forecast and ensure that there are sufficient funds at all times
*Preparation and submission of monthly payroll to payroll provider; review and approve the output before processing the payments
*Preparation of monthly CT61 and R185 returns
*Complete the quarterly FCA reporting and manage the completion of the monthly CAIS
*Initial draft of the of annual and quarterly budget for review by the Directors, ensuring an adequate level of detail is provided to facilitate the regular monitoring of KPI's
*Ensure that adequate processes and internal controls are set up and adhered to
*Lead, manage and develop the finance team (four persons) ensuring the team works to optimal efficiency and workflow arrangements that cover all known situations (e.g. cover for absences)
*Undertake adhoc project work, as required by the Directors
