Account Manager - Existing Business
Account Manager - Basic salary up to £30k plus commission
My Client is a distributor of electronic components and logistical services to manufacturers of electronic equipment. They support many industries (automotive, medical, security equipment etc) but the bulk of their activity is within the defence sector. They now stand as one of the largest distributors of its type, with over 150 employees worldwide and sales of £60m in 2016.
We are assisting them with the recruitment of an experienced Account Manager/Sales Professional to join one of their teams that looks after clients from the defence sector.This is existing business, so there is no cold calling – instead you need to maximise the revenue stream from each of your client base.
The client base is very specific as service and Quality Assurance levels are so high. The role of Account Manager is involves looking after existing customers with their component and logistical requirements.This process will include new product design support, global sourcing, open order book management and competitive quote submission. The keys to their success are Service and Quality, out-performing their competitors and exceeding customer expectations
In this position, you will be heavily involved in all aspects of the achieving the above. The required skills are varied and numerous, but must include…
-A confident and comfortable telephone manner
-An understanding of customer service and the need to always be looking to offer the best you can
-A willingness to engage with a wide variety of customers and suppliers and the ability to build relationships with them all.
-The ability and confidence to communicate with potential customers new to the business, and development of the opportunity presented thereafter
-A strong administrative leaning, with clear written and communication skills imperative
-A competitive nature, with the drive to hit sales targets and earn commission
-A desire to learn, to be trained and to progress over the months it will take to fully understand the processes and systems we operate.
-A good level of education – ideally to degree level.
