You will manage and monitor the operation of the catering facility within budgetary restraints, conforming to client and company specification. You will continuously develop and improve food quality and hygiene standards, monitor customer trends and demands, and keep up to speed with changes in legislation. You will recruit, train, develop and motivate staff and ensure that adequate products, equipment and materials are available and properly stored, used, maintained and controlled. Meeting potential customers and discuss their requirements is also part of your role, as is quotation provision.

The main responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Manage and develop staff to ensure the highest standard of work is achieved and to encourage a positive team spirit
  • Maintain high standards throughout the day in terms of service, staff appearance and attitude
  • Maintain staff records and ensure adequate training is arranged to comply with legislation and company policy
  • Ensure the restaurant complies at all times with client, company and legal requirements such as health and safety
  • Hold regular minuted team briefings
  • Control budgets for staff, products and materials within the restaurant
  • Undertake accurate stock takes as required
  • Record and remit company bookwork in a timely manner (training provided)
  • Be flexible in line with the business needs within restaurant

A customer focused, autonomous self-starter who will take ownership for a diverse team, you will have a resilient and robust nature. You will also:

  • Hold 706 1 / 706 2 qualification
  • Hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Have a demonstrable track record of excellent budgetary control and management
  • Have previous P&L control and accountability of service delivery
  • Have good people management skills
  • Have good knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Have excellent personnel management skills
  • Have strong motivational and team building skills
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours
  • Have a UK driving licence (desirable)
