An exciting opportunity for either an SENIOR SALES EXECUTIVE / ACCOUNT MANAGER or a MAJOR ACCOUNT MANAGER depending on candidates experience has arisen to work for the global market leader in international express courier industry.

The purpose of the role is to manage and develop a field sales territory in the BIRMINGHAM area targetting high level customers. The company want someone who has a keen eye towards New Business alongside managing and developing decent size Accounts and the skills required to do so.

You will be required to achieve individual sales targets while meeting key customer needs. As well as managing and developing a portfolio of approx 40 active field sales customers, you will be targeted on growing the territory by an agreed% year on year, calculated monthly as a growth target from new business, organic growth and cross selling.

You will be selling purely INTERNATIONAL PARCELS/COURIER. The client is looking for good quality sales people who are highly determined & focused individuals with the drive & determination to succeed. The split is 60% existing and 40% new business, with a new business target to be agreed.

The successful candidate will be articulate, able to communicate at all levels, self disciplined, computer literate & hungry to succeed. Experience in cold calling, prospecting & appointment making, and/or new business-focused field sales is required, and a proven track record in delivering results from own initiatives must be demonstrated. Experience within the courier industry is ideal for this role although freight forwarding or general transport may be considered, as will office equipment and other service related industries.

Essential:
3-4 years sales background in a consultative selling environment within the service industry, preferably with parcels, freight, mail distribution, pallet distribution or any other transport and logistics evironment.
Business/commercial acumen

Desirable:
Experience in a segmented service industry
Experience in the Air Express industry or freight forward industry
University bachelor degree in a business discipline (preferred)
