About the Lead Practitioner of English post
In this Lead Practitioner of English post, you will be teaching within my client schools’ highly effective English Department. As a Lead Practitioner of English, you will be keeping up-to-date with the latest teaching techniques by following a comprehensive training and professional development programme that the school has had great success with. With the use of the department's specialist subject software, you will enhance teaching and learning and this is your chance to be part of a creative English department.

As a Lead Practitioner of English, you will be teaching up to GCSE levels, helping students work hard towards their exams, giving them every chance of reaching the necessary grades for whatever their future choice.

This SEMH secondary school is found in an area of South London that really does have excellent transport links.

The school was satisfactory just a couple of years ago, and now enjoys some excellent results thanks to the devotion of the teachers. This school caters for pupils with a social, emotional and mental health difficulties and complex behavior. Some would also have additional ASD, ADHD and medical needs. It has excellent schemes of work to develop EAL pupils and has was judged by Ofsted as 'Good with outstanding features' in 2013.

Person Specification for Lead Practitioner of English
The successful applicant will be a dynamic Lead Practitioner of English who has a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and has the skills to pick up new practices quickly. The school wants to see teachers who have a history of setting high expectations for both themselves and their pupils and seeing them through. You will possess the inherent ability to excite and enthral pupils and to create an atmosphere of learning through discovery.
