Hospitality sales expert (in a venue, hotel, stadium, conference & banqueting, live venue or event catering)? Are you someone who likes to see the direct impact of your work? Can you anticipate what a client needs to make their event awesome before the words even leave their mouth?

Then this is your new job.

This is a new position in an Investors in People company (the role’s been split in two as it's become enormous!) so you’ll forge your own path and totally own this role, while knowing you have experienced co-workers to help you brainstorm when needed. In the heart of London, this the largest dedicated conference, events, hospitality & exhibition space in town, so you know your stuff!

You relish developing long-term relationships and doing all you can to creatively upsell, but also instinctively spot new opportunities - you’re responsible for targeted room hire sales plus revving up revenue from existing, lapsed and new accounts. Hey, you’re not selling products off a shelf - you’ll expertly help your clients visualise how successful their celebration, meeting, event, conference or exhibition will be in your hands.


It's a collaborative, consultative team and your voice will be heard - you'll be expected to chip in with ideas and thoughts across every area of the business. It's Mon - Fri, 37 hours/wk (rarely a weekend unless you're travelling to a Monday morning trade fair/expo/conference) but you know evening networking and hospitality events are a vital part of the job and you'll be there, leading your team.

We know you have loads of experience and to succeed you will:

  • Ooze professionalism and calm: You work at warp speed under the surface, but each client feels that you have all the time in the world for them, and relax in the knowledge that you have everything under control
  • Steer the ship: Use your years of management experience to guide, mentor, energise and continuously train your hospitality sales team of 4
  • Adapt and overcome: You're a chameleon, instinctively adapting your approach and prioritising while you juggle client enquiries, team training, reporting (you're a CRM/events room booking advocate - you know how important the detail is!), bespoke proposals, essential admin, proactive bus dev and liaising with the Operational/events delivery team (oh and keeping a sneaky eye on competitors to stay 1 step ahead and see what you can do better!)
  • Become the rock that your manager depends on: she’s Director of Sales & Marketing (so she’s in demand across the business and she’ll rely on your experience, insight, and optimistic outlook

Yep, you’re going to be flipping busy (but getting things done well at a fast pace excites you!). Your team are keen, ambitious and can’t wait to steal all of your tricks! You’re managing humans, so you treat them as individuals - '1 size fits all management’ won’t work here! You’re sensitive to the different needs of your team and motivate (or give a well-timed kick…) to channel their enthusiasm in ways that work for each of them... so it's sensible management in a nutshell.

You’re already a sales expert but you're encouraged to keep learning on your own or formally, plus it's first-come-first-served at in-house, inspiring 'masterclass’ client events and conferences.
