Online/home based in North West or Yorkshire.

We are a small, lean team building an innovative and rapidly growing comparison brand.

We work remotely and flexibly. We collaborate closely online using Slack, Trello and Google Apps.

We are an established, profitable company, but we are in constant 'start up' mode - we adapt and implement change quickly.

The role is home-based but you should be near enough to the Manchester/Leeds/Sheffield area to attend some meetings. We also offer the option of spending some of your working hours in co-working spaces near your home.

The person we're looking for will have an entrepreneurial attitude - you are adaptable and driven to learn, improve and go above and beyond. You must be able to hit the ground running and produce results with minimal supervision.

The role will require you to:

  • Research, plan and create compelling content with a consumer angle, from short topical blog posts to in-depth features

  • Champion our users' interests and help them make informed decisions

  • Build and manage a small team of freelance content writers to assist you

  • Assist in creating and executing our overall digital marketing plan

  • Liaise with our external content, PR and social media agencies

  • Optimise your content for search engines and reach out to promote it online

  • Multitask and 'pitch in' when other team members need help in admin, customer service, account management etc

You will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience creating consumer content for the web

  • Superlative English skills - you write confidently and authoritatively to explain, entertain and persuade

  • Interest in and understanding of consumer tech - especially internet, TV, mobile and gaming

  • Awesome Google-fu and web skills

  • Strong time management skills and clear focus on results

  • An understanding of SEO principles

  • Wordpress experience essential

  • Basic HTML/CSS experience

  • Some management / team co-ordination experience

  • Experience of Slack and Trello is a plus but not essential
