Specialising in generating enquiries in respect of Commercial Mortgages, BTL, Bridging Finance and Secured loans


  • Existing BDM or Experienced Underwriter within the financial services industry
  • Experience in both Regulated and Unregulated Property Secured Loans Market
  • Possesses strong established relationships with Brokers / Intermediary Network
  • Initially involved in the setup of strong new working relationships with Clients, Brokers, IFAs, Professionals and other Intermediaries to originate applications and manage through to completion
  • Ongoing development and maintenance of new and existing relationships to achieve growth
  • Strong experience of developing new business within different geographies and across different product offerings and handling key accounts/relationships
  • Develop & implement business and promotional plans

Main Duties

  • Build from scratch, develop and maintain 3rd party contacts / Network relationships to establish intermediary panel
  • Cultivate and develop new business opportunities with brokers and intermediaries via networking to generate business referrals
  • Negotiate and manage SLAs and work with intermediaries to ensure a professional service is provided
  • Ensure consistent delivery of customer experience and level of service, clearly setting out expectations of what can and cannot be achieved in designated timeframes
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels to help deliver mortgage acquisition forecasts
  • Manage multiple relationships at all levels with external stakeholders
  • Liaise with Brokers on new and existing cases, assessing each case against the lending criteria to identify and assist in a successful completion
  • Use market and competitor knowledge plus customer feedback to identify new opportunities and identify USPs
  • Assist design, development and modification of processes and product offerings to best fit customer requirements / gaps in the market on a continuous basis
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels to promote sales
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant compliance, regulatory and legal landscape
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulation and conduct risk management
  • Monitor sales/credit quality/risk KPIs and provide weekly progress and activity reports
  • Representing and promoting the business at trade shows, industry / corporate function

Essential skills and qualities

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years` experience working in field sales and underwriting role, identifying and developing new business opportunities, successfully influencing others and negotiating effectively
  • Experience working in UK Intermediary Mortgage Market, Financial Services or related discipline
  • In depth knowledge of the UK bridging / mortgage market products and policy
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Property Market and Competition (initial area of concentration London & South East)
  • Evidence of successful track record of delivery through financial services intermediary distribution
  • Good written and oral communication and presentation skills to both individuals and groups and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to use initiative and work to tight deadlines when required
  • Ability to work independently, while being part of a team

Qualification and Experience

  • CeMap qualified (currently or prepared to study for)
  • Working knowledge of DPR Consulting Solution
  • Full UK driving Licence as position will be Office / Field based
