Retail sales budgeting & forecasting role for a large high-street retailer. You are tasked with working with large data sets to produce reports in a timely and accurate manner and quickly summarise key themes and trends from c.600 supermarkets in order to update the retail leadership team.

As the sales senior analyst, you also take ownership of production of store targets, weekly and periodic reporting and answering ad hoc store/region/zonal queries.

Key responsibilities:

  • Key member of the retail sales team, working with teams across finance to provide timely accurate store budgets, and the maintenance of these on a quarterly basis
  • Responsible for the management and development of two direct reports
  • Ownership and maintenance of financial models/databases related to Sales including Budgets, Sales Reporting, Impacts and Disruptions.
  • Providing analysis, interpretation and insight into Retail sales performance looking at things differently to capture every sale, and show willingness to constructively challenge current processes and methodologies
  • Production of insightful, relevant and retail focussed weekly reporting pack
  • Ownership of many of the key retail KPI documents, including Periodic Scorecard and P&L which is an integral document for the retail field teams.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Experience in either a large multinational or SME in Retail or FMCG
  • Evidence of complex financial analysis
  • Business partnering experience at a senior level
  • In person you need to be natural relationship builder, proactive and ambitious
  • Strong, ideally advanced, excel skills
