Due to expansion, an accountant is required to join this popular accountancy practice.

As the lead technician, you will be responsible a variety of management tasks to ensure the smooth running of compliance work. The role is entered around delivering meaningful services to their clients.

The role would suit an accountant who is looking to progress into client and staff management. Training and resources are available to assist the jobholder. The role is based at either Burgess Hill or Horsham or both to suit the successful candidate. Their team is close knit and currently 6 enthusiastic and dedicated workers strong. Their working environment supports growth for both the individual and the firm


- Organise and monitor the firm's compliance tasks.
- Assign, manage and delegate tasks to team members, keeping the flow of work moving.
- Maintain regular communication with the managing director providing updates on the status of compliance tasks and any issues arising.
- Review compliance projects completed by team members. Provide review points and escalate where a greater need for technical support is required
- Assess client need to register for taxes and ensure the requirement is fulfilled. Delegating to team members where appropriate.
- Review & consider client circumstances using available resources to identify areas for improvement. Communicate findings with clients.
- Use available marketing resources to assist in identifying and increasing client interest in tax planning ideas. Liaise with and support the tax director for complex planning.
- Conduct year end meetings with clients to review and sign off accounts.
- When required, undertake compliance work. Producing working papers files, delegating and overseeing final documents.


- 6 years experience in a multi disciplinary accountancy practice.
- Well practiced with basic tasks within excel, word and outlook.
- Experience with standard accounting software for payroll, accounts, tax and VAT
- Good communication and organisation skills
