This provider of tax accountancy services and advice is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a Temp to Perm basis to provide great customer service by having a friendly professional manner with all clients. Maintain accurate financial records and help prepare accounts for all types of businesses. Proactive nature to support the practice and help it grow into an efficient and well managed office. The post holder will be required to work flexibly, in a rapidly developing office environment.

Due to the changing nature of the business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.

Essential:

- Minimum of 18 months experience in an accountancy practice
- Part qualified or studying towards a recognised qualification
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent numeracy, attention to details and financial awareness
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable to deal with changing demands of job
- Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

Main duties:

- double entry book-keeping
- completing self-assessment tax returns
- helping prepare P&L accounts and balance sheets;
- receipts and payments
- payroll
- completing VAT returns
- Dealing with walk-in, telephone and email enquiries
- Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff
- Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures
- Plus other duties consistent with the grade as directed
