Regional BD Manager - Birmingham
This excellent opportunity will require you to drive the regional (Midlands) business development and marketing strategy of this management consultancy. You will support technical teams in the development and implementation of marketing plans; support the key account programme, strategic campaigns, marketing communications and the bid process; and manage the provision of marketing infrastructure, including database management.
You will use market knowledge to adapt business development plans, be involved in budget planning, manage the sales pipeline for your offices, identify opportunities for new business through research, and develop and implement a programme of issues-led research for your region. You will also work with senior staff to develop client targeting plans, coach key account managers on best practice sales techniques, coach and support bid managers; develop and implement a programme of marketing campaigns, manage internal and some external communications for the region, and ensuring colleagues are kept aware of the business development strategy.
For this role, you must be a driven and pro-active BD marketing specialist, with at least five years experience working on marketing and business development within a professional services environment, and marketing and account management skills. You must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and have the interpersonal skills - allied to commercial credibility - to influence at a senior level, and to manage and lead a team. Other prerequisites include a commitment to outstanding internal client care, a positive 'can do' approach and the abilities to project manage and work to deadlines when under pressure.
