Primary Intervention and Art Teacher
The school is in a modern building which is equipped with up to date technology such as touchscreen whiteboards and all classes have iPads. There are excellent play facilities including huge playing fields and it is located in a residential areas so there are no roads around the school, only houses and a park. It is very popular with the staff, many of whom have sent their own children to the school and the school has a very low staff turnover. The most recent Ofsted rating is good which they plan to maintain or better in the coming years.
They are ideally looking or someone who is looking to get involved in school life and who is looking to contribute to their community feel at the school. It's really important that the school is a really friendly environment for both pupils and staff.
As an intervention teacher you will be responsible for helping groups of KS2 children in the run up to their SATS exams. You will also work with children lower down the school to improve their maths and literacy skills. The successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching art in the afternoons as PPA cover. A background in teaching art would be advantageous but is not essential.
In order to be successful it is essential that you have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Either a PGCE or Bachelors of Education
- At least two years of teaching experience in KS1 or 2
- An interest in the teaching of art
- Details of two recent referees relating to employment within education (we can also accept university references)
- A valid DBS
