Core responsibilities
o Handle a varied case load of pre-litigated and litigated bodily injury motor cases with appropriate levels of supervision. These will include cases where liability is disputed.
o The value of the cases will range from small claims up to £100,000, dependent upon experience
o Hit, maintain and apply a consistent approach to all individual targets of financial performance, realisation rates, settlement rate and average claim spend
o Maintain an awareness of firm procedures and strategies
o Assume responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on own caseload, including accuracy and timeliness of management reporting and information
o Act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience
o Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions, reading appropriate publications
o Support marketing and business development activity within the team e.g. attending marketing events and client training
o Handle confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocols

Key skills
o Experience of dealing with bodily injury motor claims, both pre-litigation and litigated is essential
o There are a number of roles at different experience levels, therefore levels of experience may vary
o Exposure to and knowledge of MOJ Portal claims
o Experience of working in a target driven commercial environment would also be an advantage.
o Excellent commercial awareness and an interest in broader business issues.
o Be able to identify market trends, to provide commercially rounded advice to clients and view things from a business perspective.
o Be flexible with an ability to adapt to rapid change, both internally and in the context of clients' businesses.
o Be a team player with a collegiate approach to knowledge sharing and problem solving, particular in the case of multi-site clients which are supported across the team.
o Have excellent organisational skills and able to effectively prioritise and organise workload/tasks
o Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues
o Be able to produce work to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail
o Have a concern for quality of service

The team
Our large Manchester motor team, whose clients are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, deal with all aspects of defendant motor litigation.
We are looking for a range of experienced individuals to join the team to handle bodily injury motor cases up to a value of £100,000.
Our client is the biggest defendant insurance litigation firm and is the top firm in the North West for defendant personal injury work (Chambers). The client has been involved in some of the leading cases that have been reported so the work is often high profile.
