Business Development Director - Business Intelligence

£42,000-£45,000 + Uncapped Commission

Fantastic opportunity to sell a leading business intelligence platform to the UK’s most prominent retail businesses.

Our client’s product offering is a brand led, content driven subscription business which operates in some of the most interesting and influential business sectors in the UK.

Their most high profile and latest launch product last year- is a premium digital intelligence tool, which delivers intelligence on the Top 250 retailers enabling IT vendors and consultants to create relevant opportunities and convert them faster by having the right conversation at the right time with the right person in UK retailers.
You will be responsible for selling this premium subscription package to senior decision makers (Business Development Directors) within the Technology sector- helping them win more business and stay ahead of their competitors.

Key Accountabilities
To achieve this you will be accountable for:

  • Acquiring an extensive comprehension of market trends and developments in UK retailing and the IT sector; as well as understanding the competitor landscape
  • Exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets- ensuring maximum possible delivery against sales targets through the generation of new business in the IT sector.
  • Developing a strong pipeline of business providing four times cover of the monthly sales target.
  • Preparing, presenting and negotiating business proposals to clients
  • Preparing sales plans for key accounts as appropriate
  • Being recognised as the face of the brand and intelligence tool across a specific territory
  • Work cross functionally with other departments and stakeholders to drive revenue
  • Develop exceptional relationships with clients by understanding their needs
  • Working closely with the marketing team to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Providing client feedback to the editorial and product development teams to help shape the service.
  • Exceeding the sales standards around behaviors and productivity, including call times and meetings. As well as regularly maintaining accurate records of sales process activity in SalesForce and reporting as required.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree educated preferred
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience selling a business intelligence or SaaS product or 5 year’s experience within a Consultative Selling Environment.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development and winning new business with a consultative solution

  • Excellent telephone and face to face manner (structured sales training essential)
